Your Town. Your Canvas.

Each sub-project encourages students to interact with professionals in various fields, broadening their horizons and giving them a taste of real-world business challenges. They'll learn valuable skills in leadership, collaboration, financial planning, and innovative thinking.

Low Maintenance Planters Initiative

Partner with local businesses to design, fund, and implement low maintenance planting in the planters throughout the town. This would provide environmental benefits and promote urban agriculture and beautification efforts. Students will have the opportunity to work closely with city businesses, local nurseries, botanists, and urban planners.

"Local Legends" Storytelling Series

Students collaborate with local historians, senior citizens, and business owners to capture oral histories and legends of the town. These stories are then showcased in a series of live events, podcasts, or web series, held at local venues or businesses. This project fosters intergenerational connection, promotes local culture, and provides students with skills in media production, event management, and marketing

Community Mural & Arts Initiative

Pair students with local artists and businesses to design murals or public art pieces that reflect the community's values and history. The art acts as a beacon of revitalization and promotes cultural expression.

The New Enterprise Catalyst

Work with local agencies and entrepreneurs to establish workable business plans for new businesses the community wants or needs. Students will understand the early stages of starting a business from the perspective of an entrepreneur and gain experience in identifying customer segments, constructing value propositions, and business viability. Project fosters strategic thinking and understanding of the startup ecosystem

Small Business Showcase

Students collaborate with a variety of local small businesses to organize a festival celebrating the unique products, services, and cultures they bring to the community. This event allows businesses to introduce themselves to a wider audience, offer special promotions, or even collaborate on exclusive products for the event. Students will gain experience in event planning, partnership coordination, marketing, and financial budgeting

Senior Tech Tutoring

Many older residents struggle with new technology. Students can offer classes, partnering with local tech businesses to sponsor equipment and spaces, bridging generational gaps while supporting tech literacy.
